This project is located in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, systematically treating hazards such as leakage, waterproof-layer aging and node failure on the existing roof of the aircraft operations support center. It covers cleaning and renovation of the original waterproof layer, reinforcement of roof-penetrating pipes and gutters, and construction and ponding test of the new waterproof layer. Roof waterproofing accommodates low-impact work requirements, setting high standards for process organization and safety protection.

Safety Measures

  • Hot-work control: hot-air welding away from combustibles, sufficient fire equipment on site, hot-work permits with dedicated watch.
  • High-altitude protection: roof workers must wear helmets, safety ropes, anti-slip shoes; guardrails at roof edges.
  • Clean site management: materials sorted and neatly stacked, waste cleared promptly.
  • Bad-weather stop: no TPO work in rain, snow, fog or wind ≥ level 5; no work when substrate moisture exceeds limit.
  • Site enclosure & warning: safety signs, no unauthorized personnel in work area.
  • Emergency plan: emergency team led by project manager, fire/electric-shock/fall equipment.

Construction Flow

  1. Substrate repair & leveling — chisel weathered/delaminated substrate, repair with anti-crack mortar.
  2. Primer coating — evenly spray/brush special primer, dry before membrane.
  3. Membrane pre-lay & adhesive flash — unfold TPO 15–20 min, work low to high, brush adhesive.
  4. Full-adhesion laying & air exhaust — adhere membrane to substrate, roll to exhaust air, firm bond.
  5. Hot-air welding seal — automatic welder for field, manual for details, lap ≥80 mm.
  6. Detail reinforcement — additional layers at corners, pipe roots, gutters, flashing, eaves.
